Theatre Northeast is proud to present the ?life-affirming? comedy/drama鈥Tuesdays With Morrie鈥by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom. They will perform the play, based on the best-selling book by Mitch Albom, July 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and July 20 at 2:05 p.m. in the Studio Theatre of The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 开云体育.

The play has been described as ?An old man, a young man, and life?s greatest lesson.?鈥Tuesdays With Morrie鈥is the autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie?s appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig?s Disease.

Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts out as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life. The play has been described by critics as: ?Unforgettable! No matter how well you tell the story, the play makes it more vivid, more shattering, more humorous? (New York Magazine); ?A touching, life-affirming, deeply emotional drama with a generous dose of humor? (New York Daily News); and ?I was unprepared for how moving and powerful鈥Tuesdays With Morrie鈥爐urned out to be?on the ground, the flowers of humanity grow? (New York Post).
