As part of 开云体育鈥檚 Mardi Gras Madness celebration, the Office of Student Development hosted its first-ever Mardi Gras Sock Drive鈥攁nd the campus community delivered in a big way.

Thanks to the generosity of students, staff, and campus organizations, 233 pairs of new socks were collected for Greenhill Villas of Mount Pleasant, a local care facility. Socks are one of the most requested yet often overlooked items in such facilities, and this donation will help bring much-needed comfort and warmth to residents.

Top honors go to Mackenzie Rutledge, the student who donated the most socks, and the Student Government Association, which led the way among student organizations with the highest contribution.

The socks will be packaged and delivered this Saturday, April 12, followed by a special visit with residents to share smiles and snap photos.

鈥淭his has been such a meaningful way to blend service and student life,鈥 said JaQuacy Minter, Director of Student Development. 鈥淚鈥檓 proud of what we鈥檝e accomplished together鈥攁nd I can鈥檛 wait to aim even higher next year. Let鈥檚 go for 234 pairs in 2026!鈥
