The 开云体育 Theatre Department invites the community to a delightful evening of wit and charm with its spring production of The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde鈥檚 celebrated comedic masterpiece. Performances will be held at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts April 24th-26th at 7 p.m. with a special 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, April 26th.
Directed by Dr. Page Petrucka, this classic play satirizes Victorian social norms through a fast-paced story of mistaken identities, secret romances, and absurdly earnest lies. The plot follows Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, two young men who create fictional personas to escape their social obligations and pursue love. Their plans go hilariously awry when their deceptions begin to unravel, leading to unexpected twists and witty revelations.
