The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Art Department will hold its annual student art show from Friday, April 8th through Tuesday, April 27th in the foyer gallery of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The exhibit will feature over 100 student artworks in design, drawing, ceramics, photography, and digital media.  A reception will be held Wednesday, April 13th in the Whatley Center foyer at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come, meet our amazing students, and enjoy the exhibit. 

Medical Assistants are a vital part of healthcare as they work alongside physicians, mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics. Medical assistants are​ cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties making them the heart of healthcare. 

Alpha Mu Chi, ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, successfully campaigned for the Texas Region President position at the regional convention earlier this month.  Texas Regional Officers have an amazing opportunity to develop leadership skills as they work with the Regional leadership team to plan and facilitate three regional events, including the Texas Honors Institute held in July, the Texas Leadership Conference held in October, and the Texas Regional Convention held in March.

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Business Club will host its 2nd annual Easter egg hunt on April 9th at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to ages 0-12. More than 6,000 eggs will be hidden! For more information, call 903-434-8129 or 903-434-8224. 

Save the date! The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Theatre department is pleased to invite everyone to the upcoming Spring production. It’s an evening of short plays and will be held at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Performance dates are April 21, 22, and 23 at 7:30 pm with an additional matinee on Saturday, April 23 at 2:30 pm.

The performance in total will be about an hour and is for audiences of all ages (over 6 years old, please).

Sophomore Israel Perez has set a new first for ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý recently, publishing in the Texas Handbook, an online resource, and the most utilized source for Texas history ever created. The articles in the Handbook must go through a professional review process, and are usually crafted by professional historians. In some cases, amateur historians and graduate students also contribute.

The last weekend of spring break, 10 ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý (¿ªÔÆÌåÓý) students traveled to Emporia, Kansas to attend the 47th Annual Art Therapy Discovery Day at Emporia State University. This event was an opportunity to attend a professional conference, meet and talk to faculty and graduate students, and form lasting friendships with other ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý students. 

Time is running out to get tickets for the first annual ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Rodeo alumni dinner and team fundraiser! The event will be held Saturday, April 9 at the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Arena Becky & Buddy McCollum Events Center & Pavilion. 

It will feature live music and dancing, silent auction, live auction, meet and greet with the current team, and catered barbecue dinner.

Dr. Kathy Eubanks has been chosen as the recipient of ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý’s 2022 Adjunct Faculty Member of the year. This award is given by the Faculty Senate to award teaching excellence and in recognition of the adjunct faculty member’s education, talents, dedication and experience.
