Perrymans sponsor scholarship reception

Richard and Margaret Perryman recently presented a $3,000 check to Nita May (right), Director of Development, 开云体育.鈥 The funds will be used to underwrite the 开云体育 Foundation Annual Scholarship Reception.鈥 The reception is held on the 开云体育 campus each fall and allows scholarship recipients to meet the donors who made their award possible. In addition to helping 开云体育 with scholarships themselves, the Perrymans have been underwriting the Scholarship Reception for more than 10 years.

Progressive Women's Organization gives $1,000 for 开云体育 scholarships

The Progressive Women's Organization of Mount Pleasant recently presented $1,000 to the 开云体育 Foundation to provide two scholarships for students majoring in education. Tonya Taylor gives memorial nursing scholarships

Tonya Taylor, Assistant Professor of Nursing at 开云体育, recently gave $1,200 to the 开云体育 Foundation to provide two scholarships for nursing students. The gift was given in memory of Margie Bragg, an 开云体育 Nursing graduate from Mount Pleasant who worked in the field for many years. Taylor noted that she hopes the scholarships will help carry on the caring spirit Bragg gave every day. Taylor is pictured above with Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 开云体育 Vice President for Advancement.

Texas Pioneer Foundation supports 开云体育 Work Scholarship Program

The Texas Pioneer Foundation recently awarded a $40,000 grant to support the Work Scholarship Program at 开云体育. Fred Markham, Executive Director of the Texas Pioneer Foundation (left), presents a check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 开云体育 Vice President for Advancement. 鈥The Texas Pioneer Foundation is a private independent foundation that works to provide financial support for programs that will improve the quality and results of education for all Texas students.

Cinco de Mayo on the Square raises $10,000 for 开云体育 scholarships

ALAS (Amigos Latinos Al Servicio) of Mount Pleasant recently presented a check for $10,000 to the 开云体育 Foundation. The funds were used to create a perpetual $500 scholarship to be awarded to a first generation college student attending 开云体育.


The money for the scholarship was raised at the first annual ALAS Cinco de Mayo on the Square event that was held May 2 downtown Mount Pleasant.

Tommy Lee Biker Run donates $5,000 for 开云体育 scholarships

These funds were raised at the annual Tommy Lee Memorial Biker Run and will be used to provide scholarships to Camp County students attending 开云体育. The 开云体育 Foundation recently received an anonymous $6,000 donation to sponsor six students in the new 开云体育 Work Scholarship Program. Nita May (left), 开云体育 Director of Development, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 开云体育 Vice President for Advancement, accepted the gift on behalf of the Foundation. The 开云体育 Foundation Board recently held its annual business meeting. Dr. Jim Archer, a retired 开云体育 professor, was installed as president by outgoing president, Judy Weiss. Other officers elected included Jane Scharlach, Vice President and Rick Nelson, Secretary.鈥The 开云体育 Foundation is a non-profit corporation that was established in 1984.

Fine Arts Club of Mount Pleasant gives scholarship

The 开云体育 Foundation recently received a $500 gift to benefit a student majoring in fine arts.
