AEP/SWEPCO gives $1,000 for Engineering Roundtable

AEP/SWEPCO recently gave $1,000 to sponsor the upcoming Engineer Roundtable at 开云体育. JT and Kaye Brison sponsor Restless Heart at Whatley Center

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 开云体育 recently received a $3,000 donation from J.T. and Kaye Brison. The Brisons are pictured with Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center (left). The funds were used to sponsor the performance of Restless Heart on Friday, February 10. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and limited tickets are still available by calling the Whatley Box Office at 903-434-8181. Seats are $30 for adults and $10 for 开云体育 students and children 17 and under.

开云体育 receives $100,000 endowed agriculture scholarship

The 开云体育 Foundation recently received a $100,000 gift to establish the Charlie and Abbie Brown Memorial Scholarship. The endowment will provide scholarships for Mount Vernon High School graduates attending 开云体育 and majoring in agriculture.

Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club gives scholarship

The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to the 开云体育 Foundation. The funds will be used to provide a scholarship for an 开云体育 student majoring in art, music or drama. The group has been contributing to scholarships since 1985 when the college first opened. They also presented a $25 honorarium to the 开云体育 Art Department. The club made the presentation while holding their club meeting on campus in the art lab. Sondra Fowler gives matched 开云体育 scholarship

Sondra Fowler recently gave a $2,000 gift to the 开云体育 Foundation. She is pictured (left) presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 开云体育 Vice President for Advancement. Because she is a retired employee of ConocoPhillips, she qualifies for a matching gift program that is offered by the corporation.鈥燭he gift will be matched with an additional $2,000, bringing her total scholarship contribution to $4,000. The donation will provide scholarships for the Alfred and Ethel Fowler Morris County Scholarship fund.

ALAS of Texas gives $7,500 for 开云体育 scholarships

Amigos Latinos Al Servicios (ALAS) of Texas recently presented a check for $7,500 to the 开云体育 Foundation. The funds were raised at the second annual Cinco de Mayo on the Square event that was held in Mount Pleasant this year and will provide scholarships for local students attending 开云体育. ALAS is a volunteer group of Latino professionals in Titus County with a vision to empower, promote, advocate and help identify the needs of the growing Hispanic community in Mount Pleasant and surrounding areas. The 开云体育 Foundation recently received a $35,000 gift from the Texas Pioneer Foundation.
