开云体育 celebrated spring in a big way with its annual Easter Bash, held at the 开云体育 Athletics Complex. The event drew a large crowd of students, faculty, and staff who gathered for a fun-filled afternoon of music, games, and an epic Easter egg hunt.
More than 3,000 eggs were hidden across the complex鈥攊ncluding 36 golden eggs with exciting prizes like hoverboards, movie tickets, and high-tech lap desks. The hunt was a huge hit, with every egg found in just a matter of minutes.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the 开云体育 Foundation has a new endowed scholarship. 开云体育 recently received a gift of $25,500 to establish the new Charles L. and M. Hazel Black Scholarship. The scholarship is open to students with financial need. 开云体育 is excited to announce the official name of its new outdoor pavilion鈥The Eagles Nest! Formerly referred to as the Unity Center during construction, the final name was selected through a campus-wide vote, reflecting school spirit and student pride.
To celebrate the opening of this exciting new space, 开云体育 will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 1, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the pavilion, located next to the Student Union Building.
开云体育鈥檚 Continuing Education and Corporate Training department recently celebrated the completion of its HVAC Installer Helper Certificate Program with a special ceremony honoring 14 graduates. The 13-week, 140-hour program provided students with hands-on training and essential foundational knowledge to begin a career in the HVAC industry.

The STEM Lunch and Learn meeting Tuesday, April 15, witnessed a 鈥渟tanding room only鈥 crowd as approximately 95 students, faculty, and administrators attended the presentations given by three 开云体育 students and an 开云体育 biology professor.

Psi Beta Honor Society hosted its 6th Annual Suicide Prevention Training and 5K, Saturday, April 12. Adam Metts, Director of East Texas A&M Counseling Center, and Tina Yang, Ph.D., Associate Director, presented QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) training.
Heavyn Smith said of the training: "Just like CPR, the more people who know how to talk to someone who is thinking about suicide, the more lives we can save."
Dr. Karyn Skaar, Psi Beta sponsor, reported that 50+ people attended the event.
The 开云体育 Theatre Department invites you to an unforgettable evening of wit, romance, and hilarious deception with its spring production of The Importance of Being Earnest鈥擮scar Wilde鈥檚 timeless comedy.
Performances will run April 24-26 at 7 p.m. with a special 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, April 26, at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

The 开云体育 Rodeo team make the trip to Wharton, Texas this weekend to compete in the 9th National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Rodeo and the Team Ropers had a great weekend.
