The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý 2021 Work4College Program officially kicked off last week as students and their families gathered for two orientation events. More than 80 students have been selected to participate in the program this summer. Around 30 of the students are returning from last summer.
The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently announced it received $40,000 from the Greater Texas Foundation to support the Work4College Program. Dr. Ron Clinton (right), ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý President, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Executive Vice President for Advancement, are pictured receiving the gift on behalf of the college. The 2021 Work4College program will kick off June 7 with more than 80 student participating.
The Orchard Ensemble featuring pianist Evan Mitchell, violinist Mark Miller and violist Ute Miller will perform at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý on Sunday, June 13 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for age 17 and under. The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Adult Education Program honored five deserving General Equivalency Diploma (GED) students during its recent GED Graduation ceremony by inducting them into the National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS).
Conner Mitleff of Mount Pleasant was recently presented with the J. Travis Jackson GED Scholarship during the 2021 GED graduation ceremony hosted by the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Adult Education Program.
Three ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý history students emerged on top in the 2021 Bonnie Spencer competition, for the best student essays in history. Essays could have been entered from any history course from any history instructor, full-time or part-time, on campus or off, such as with embedded dual history classes.
On May 5, 2021 ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý EMS, Nursing, and PTA students participated in an interprofessional collaboration experience. The Health Science students are developing communication skills preparing them to be able to collaborate accurately and adequately about patient care.
There is still time to register your kids for upcoming summer activities through ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý's Continuing Education Department. Registration for Summertime On The Farm with the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Ag Program closes June 4. The program begins June 14.
