June 9 construction update
? Phase 2 of the construction project is underway! There are significant closures around the interior of the campus (see map below for specifics).
? The front entrance to the Administration Building is closed. The only access is via the new sidewalk to the back entrance. All traffic should enter through this door.â€
iCan Kids Discovery College underway
Isabel Gonzales of Mount Pleasant participates in the Robotics class at the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý iCan Kids Discovery College at the Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg. She is a participant in the first session of the program, which runs June 6-16. There is still time to register for the second session of the iCan Kids Discovery College, which will be held at the Elizabeth H. Whatley Agriculture Center across the main ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý campus June 20-30. The program is for kids ages 8-15 and sessions range from $59-$99 each.

PTK wins Jenzabar grant, presents at conference
Alpha Mu Chi, the Northeast†Texas Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, was recently honored at the Jenzabar Annual Meeting at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý chapter was one of only seven groups†recognized at†the meeting†who received the Student Leadership Award,†given out each year by the Jenzabar Foundation. The award came with a $5,000 grant and the club was invited†to be part of a poster presentation at the meeting to showcase its efforts and activities.â€
June 2 Construction Update
? Phase 2 of the construction project was approved by the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Board in May, giving the go-ahead for construction to continue
? The Humanities building, downstairs of UHS, and Phase 1 of the LRC are the first projects scheduled to begin (possibly as soon as next week)
? There is one lane allowing traffic to access the western side of campus (Shelby, Criminal Justice, etc.)
? The main plaza of the campus will redone as part of Phase 2, which will limit access to the core buildings
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý closed for Memorial Day
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý will be closed on Monday, May 30†in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, May 31. In case of an emergency on campus during the closure, contact security at 903-563-1417.
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý signs new health sciences agreement with Texas A&M-Texarkana
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý and Texas A&M University-Texarkana officials signed an articulation agreement today at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý, formalizing a partnership benefiting students who wish to attain baccalaureate degrees.
The agreement creates a seamless transition for students enrolled in†¿ªÔÆÌåÓý?s†Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist Assistant, Community Health and Funeral Services programs to transfer to Texas A&M University-Texarkana?s Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences program.

Texas Heritage National Bank recently gave $4,000 to the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation. The funds will be used to sponsor a Presidential Scholar in Honors Northeast, ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý?s nationally-recognized honors program.
