¿ªÔÆÌåÓý speech professor honored
†††Danny Moss, Professor of Speech at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý, was recently named Community College Educator of the Year by the Texas Speech Communication Association (TSCA). He received the award during the group's annual conference in Lubbock, Texas Oct. 3.
†††Moss has taught speech for 26 years, including 16 years at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý. He was nominated by fellow speech educators around the state to receive the honor.
Honors Northeast previews new film
Members of Honors Northeast recently previewed their coming film on Harriet Potter Ames to the fall meeting of the Native Plant Society of Texas in Texarkana. The student presenters, who also acted in the film, and in some cases, researched the original script, role-played their characters for the meeting.

Daingerfield Country Club wins Foundation golf tourney
The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation recently held its annual golf tournament at Daingerfield Country Club in Daingerfield. This was the 27th†consecutive year of the tournament. This year?s winning team (pictured) was†Daingerfield Country Club with a score of 19 under.

Vicki Lawrence to perform at the Whatley Center
Emmy Award- winning comedian Vicki Lawrence will perform at the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý campus in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Her tour is titled Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two Woman Show and features all new material.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Rodeo update
The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý (¿ªÔÆÌåÓý) rodeo team has five members ranked in the 2014-2015 Southern Region standings after their second rodeo of the season. The team hopes to improve its place in the standings after this weekend's home rodeo at the Mount Pleasant City Arena.
Berlin natives visit with ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý German class
Students in ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý's new German 1311 class recently had visitors from†Berlin, Germany.†Uwe and Henny Goettert are currently living in Toronto while Henny completes her degree in molecular genetics. †They were visiting in the Pittsburg area with Henny?s former host family from 2000-2001, when she was a foreign exchange student to the US.
Henny was born in East Berlin when the Berlin Wall was still standing. She was four years old when it fell in 1989.

Honors Northeast announces 2014-2015 selections
Honors Northeast, the honors program of ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý, is pleased to announce its class of Presidential Scholars and Honors Scholars for the 2014-2015 academic year. The group of†22†students includes one incoming valedictorian, and two salutatorians along with returning Boe, Caldwell, and Star-Award winners.
