Webster sworn in as ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý board member
Jerry Webster (left), newly appointed board member for ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý, is given his oath of office by Lt. Gov Bill Ratliff. †Webster is Market President of Pilgrim Bank, Pittsburg. He was appointed to fill Place†I†of the board of trustees in June after long-time member Jerry Massey retired.

Learning Resource Center (LRC) at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý recently announced that it is changing operating hours to the following schedule for the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters:

SMART Girls Conference planned
Communities In Schools of Northeast Texas will host the annual SMART Girls Conference on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý. SMART Girls (Science, Math And Related Technology) provides girls between the ages of 11 and 15 access to dynamic women in SMART careers.
The keynote speaker will be Leslie Denman. She loves to motivate and empower women and girls. Denman openly shares her struggles, victories and faith with young girls to inspire them to Dream Big! She is a mentor to young people and an encourager to women.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý offers hybrid EMT Basic Course
The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Emergency Medical Services program is †offering a hybrid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Level course this fall. Students will complete the full semester of training online and then meet face-to-face for three days at the end of the term. Classes begin August 26.
The EMT Basic Level course is designed to prepare students to test to become a certified EMT.
Cypress Bank donates laptop to ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Honors
For the sixth year in a row, Cypress Bank has funded the purchase of a laptop for the use of ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Honors students.†This year?s recipient, Scot Pitzer (center), was a U.I.L. science, biology, and math standout who placed in the state U.I.L. finals in science. †He graduated from Paul Pewitt High School and hopes to become a pharmacist. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Honors is now accepting submissions for the sixth annual Northeast Texas Poetry Contest. Poems should be e-mailed to ayox@ntcc.edu by noon on†Friday, Aug. 30.†The Reading and awards ceremony will be held Friday, Sept.
Pleasant Sams give annual scholarship
The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation recently received a $500 scholarship from the Pleasant Sams, the Mount Pleasant Chapter of the Good Sam Club of America. International Sulphur gives ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý transfer scholarships
