¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Board holds regular April meeting

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Board of trustees met on Wednesday, May 3rd for its delayed regular April meeting. Board Chairman Chuck Johns opened the meeting by announcing that Sid Greer, who held Place Four from Morris County, has resigned from his position on the board.

Greer joined the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý board in 2000 and has been instrumental in many major milestones at the college, including his particular interest in the construction of the Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Ag Complex and the development of the Sustainable Agriculture program.

Business Club presents scholarships

Members of the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Business Club recently presented two $500 checks to the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation. The donation will provide two business students with a scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year. This is the fourth year the Business Club has given scholarships. Club members raise funds by participating in various events on campus and selling chocolate covered strawberries on Valentine’s Day. This is one of only a few student-led scholarships at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý. PTK Chapter attends International Convention in Ohio

Eight members of Alpha Mu Chi, ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, attended the PTK International Convention, known as Catalyst, in Columbus, Ohio. Attendees drove through the night Wednesday April 19, to arrive for the first opening session on Thursday April 20.

Tickets available for Rodeo Alumni Dinner & Fundraiser

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Rodeo team will host its 2nd Annual Alumni Dinner and Fundraiser on Saturday, May 6th at The Pavilion Becky and Buddy McCollum Events Center on the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Grounds.

The evening will start at 5:30 pm with a Social Hour. Texas Road House will be catering the event with the meal to start at 6:30pm and then a live auction and live music and dancing to follow.

Four graduate from CDL program

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. Four new students recently graduated from the program. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý represented at Texas Hot Link Festival this Saturday

If you are looking for something fun to do this Saturday, head to downtown Pittsburg and check out the Texas Hot Link Festival. The excitement begins at 10 a.m. and will feature a variety of food, vendors, concerts and events. The festival is commemorating the 100th birthday of Carroll Shelby with several of the day's events themed around the late racing legend. These will include a car show hosted by the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Shelby Automotive Program (starting at 10 a.m.
