Thomas and April Bliss establish ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý scholarships

Thomas and April Bliss recently presented the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation with $2,000 to establish two scholarships. The Sharon Bliss Memorial scholarship is in memory of Thomas? mother,†who had a long career as a respiratory therapist.†This scholarship†will benefit a student studying health sciences at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý. The Bradyn Dawn Loy Memorial Scholarship†was established†in memory of the Mount Vernon High School student and friend of the Bliss family who passed away last year.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Golf Classic ends in a tie

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Golf Classic raised more than $7,000 for the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation this year.† The tournament, held at the Daingerfield Country Club, consisted of eight six-person teams.† There was a two-way tie for first place between the Daingerfield Country Club Team and the team from Guaranty Bank and Trust. The tie breaker was settled on a score card play-off that was won by Daingerfield Country Club.

Velma Lee Buck Blount Williams Scholarship established at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Nancy Blount recently gave $500 to establish the Velma Lee Buck Blount Williams Memorial Scholarship at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý. The gift was given by Nancy in memory of her late mother, Velma (pictured), a longtime Pittsburg resident. The scholarship will benefit an ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý student from Camp or Wood counties.
