The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Eagle staff recently attended the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association convention in Corpus Christi and brought home 25 awards including Overall Excellence in Division 5 and third place in Best of Show in Division 3.
The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Adult Education Department recently learned that ESL (English as a Second Language) student Alma Marquez received the Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education (TALAE) ESL Persistence Adult Learner of the Year Award.
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý recently learned that Chesney Davis is one of only 15 students nationwide to be named a 2019 Guistwhite Scholar. The honor comes with a $5,000 scholarship for baccalaureate studies and a commemorative medallion.
The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Art Department will host the Mount Pleasant Art Society Annual Membership Show March 25 through April 5 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

Nine faculty and students from ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý attended the World History Association of Texas (WHAT) meeting held on the campus of Texas A&M University - Commerce February 22-23.
Daniel Landaverde was recently named the winner of the 2019 Chitsey Award, granted each year to the student of Honors Northeast who most exceeded expectations. The award comes with a $200 check.
The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Cosmetology Department dual credit class from Chapel Hill welcomed some special clients this week as young ladies from Chapel Hill Middle School visited campus to learn about cosmetology and to receive makeovers from their older Chapel Hill classmates.
