Construction Update for Jan. 19
There are a few construction areas that faculty, staff and students should be aware of as we prepare for the first day of spring classes next Tuesday (remember, we will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day):
- The western parking lot (PL3) between UHS and the SUB should be reopened by Tuesday.

U.S. Congressman John Ratcliffe to visit campus
United States Congressman John Ratcliffe will visit ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý†Thursday,†Jan. 21 at 2:30 p.m. He will speak in the Criminal Justice Center to Police Academy cadets on the topic of Cyber Security,†Terrorism and Illegal Immigration. Mr. Ratcliffe represents the fourth district of Texas, which includes the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý district, in the United States House of Representatives.
As U.S. Attorney, he was the top federal law enforcement officer for a 33,000 square mile area of North and East Texas, including almost all of the 4th Congressional District.

Deanna Moody wins Wellness Caught in Action honor
Congratulations to Deanna Moody, the December recipient of ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý's Wellness Caught in Action honor! She was spotted exercising in the FIT with her daughter, Jacey. Deanna was presented with a gift basket in recognition of her steps toward a healthy lifestyle.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý open Saturday from 8-Noon
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 16 to assist students who need assistance finalizing registration for the Spring 2016 semester. Students will have the opportunity to make payments, check on financial aid status, turn in financial aid or admissions documentation and make schedule adjustments.
The College Store will also be open during this time to allow students to purchase books and other supplies.

Kenneth Irizarry, P.E.,†Professor of Engineering, recently spoke to students attending the monthly Math/Science Student Organization.†In his presentation entitled ?Environmental Engineering?, he talked about the required credentials, industry needs, and example projects for a career in this field of engineering.

Honors Northeast to premiere new historical film
The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Webb Society and Honors Northeast Present will premiere their new original film†Two for One: The Story of Ma and Pa Ferguson on†Friday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. in the†Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.
Jim ?Pa" Ferguson came to power by backing tenant farmers and avoiding the issue of alcohol.
