About this position: This position is funded through the Texas Workforce Commission and overseen by the 开云体育 Adult Education and Literacy Department. ESL instruction is provided to persons who speak little or no English. Teachers must be able to prepare and upgrade students鈥 skills in listening and reading comprehension, speaking, and writing in conjunction with life skills and civics components to help students fully function in the community. Students 17 or older are eligible for ESL services.

The 开云体育 Foundation recently received a donation of $10,000 from the Christiansen and Stanley families. The gift is being used to establish an endowed scholarship for students majoring in agriculture or other workforce-related fields. The 开云体育 Carroll Shelby Student Auto Club is having a fund-raising chili cook-off to honor Carroll Shelby鈥檚 100th birthday. All monies will go to support the club鈥檚 activities. The event will be held in the 开云体育 Culinary School in downtown Pittsburg on January 11th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Awards will be given for the winner of the People鈥檚 Choice and Judge鈥檚 Choice Chili.
